Midday Storm
So the clans slept under that overhang that night, some close together managed to stay warm. Those who felt no need to mingle grew cold overnight, and would wake with frozen paws in the morning.
Rabbitstar rose from beside his mate rather carefully not to wake her and looked at the cats still asleep around him. When they rose he and the other leaders would set up patrols for hunting and scouting out what went on over night.
He carefully stepped past cats and padded to the entrance of the cave and looked outside. Strangely enough a thin blanket of snow had fallen over night. He sniffed the air; no signs of any storm nearby, at least at that moment. The air was crisp and cold, a snowstorm could appear at any moment with frozen precipitation. All on the ground the small balls of ice had welded to the ground, the ground around it ice. He and the other warriors would have to take precautions as they walked.
It was then the leader thought back on the day before, all the deaths that had happened in so few hours, and the great whirlwinding clouds crushing, and throwing away everything he and the clans loved so much. There would not be to much remaining. He prepared himself for the worst.
How much had Bumbletail and the others brought back last night? We may not have to look for much.</i> He looked back towards the outside of the cave, With this snow, a majority of the prey would be looking for a den to get warm. Or already have. I’ll have to get some warriors together and soon. A mixture of all the clans, we may need bonding between the clans. There is no time for rivalries.
